Ingredients

- 12 oz dark chocolate, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder for coating
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Chop the dark chocolate finely and place it in a heatproof bowl.
- Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until steaming but not boiling.
- Pour the warm cream over the chocolate and let sit for 2 minutes.
- Stir gently until smooth then mix in butter and vanilla extract.
- Cover and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours until firm enough to scoop.
- Scoop tablespoon portions and roll into balls using cool hands.
- Roll truffles in cocoa powder, nuts, or sprinkles as desired.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving for best texture.
