Description
A delicious Tiramisu Cake made with layers of fluffy cake, coffee syrup, and mascarpone cream.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup whole milk
- ¼ cup neutral oil (like canola or sunflower)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup brewed strong coffee (cooled)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for coffee syrup)
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese (room temperature)
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cream)
- Unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)
- Optional: dark chocolate shavings or chocolate curls
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy—about 4–5 minutes using a hand mixer.
- Add in the oil, milk, and vanilla, then fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the pans and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let them cool completely.
- While the cakes cool, stir the sugar into the brewed coffee until dissolved. Set aside.
- In a chilled mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- In another bowl, whisk together the mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone until fully combined and fluffy.
- Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Brush generously with half of the coffee syrup, letting it soak in slightly.
- Spread a thick layer of mascarpone cream over the top.
- Repeat with the second cake layer, brushing it with the remaining coffee syrup and covering the top and sides with the remaining cream.
- Dust the top of the cake with unsweetened cocoa powder.
- For best results, refrigerate the tiramisu cake for at least 4 hours or overnight. This allows the flavors to meld and the cream to set beautifully.
Notes
- This cake is best served chilled to enhance the flavors.
- You can substitute the mascarpone cheese with cream cheese if desired.
