Description

A delicious Tiramisu Cake made with layers of fluffy cake, coffee syrup, and mascarpone cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup neutral oil (like canola or sunflower)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup brewed strong coffee (cooled)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for coffee syrup)
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese (room temperature)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cream)
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)
  • Optional: dark chocolate shavings or chocolate curls

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy—about 4–5 minutes using a hand mixer.
  4. Add in the oil, milk, and vanilla, then fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the pans and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let them cool completely.
  6. While the cakes cool, stir the sugar into the brewed coffee until dissolved. Set aside.
  7. In a chilled mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  8. In another bowl, whisk together the mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  9. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone until fully combined and fluffy.
  10. Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Brush generously with half of the coffee syrup, letting it soak in slightly.
  11. Spread a thick layer of mascarpone cream over the top.
  12. Repeat with the second cake layer, brushing it with the remaining coffee syrup and covering the top and sides with the remaining cream.
  13. Dust the top of the cake with unsweetened cocoa powder.
  14. For best results, refrigerate the tiramisu cake for at least 4 hours or overnight. This allows the flavors to meld and the cream to set beautifully.

Notes

  • This cake is best served chilled to enhance the flavors.
  • You can substitute the mascarpone cheese with cream cheese if desired.
