Description
This crispy air fryer tofu is perfect as a snack or as part of a meal. It’s easy to make and packed with flavor!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 block extra-firm tofu
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
Instructions
- Place the block of extra-firm tofu between two plates lined with paper towels or a clean kitchen towel. Put a heavy object on top and let it sit for at least 15 minutes to remove as much moisture as possible.
- Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, and onion powder. Toss the tofu cubes in the marinade, making sure every piece is well coated. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle the cornstarch over the marinated tofu and gently toss to coat. This creates that signature crispy exterior.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Arrange the tofu cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even crisping. The tofu should be golden and crispy on all sides.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add chili flakes or ginger to the marinade.
- Ensure the tofu is well-pressed to achieve maximum crispiness.
