Instructions
- In a bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce. Add chicken thighs, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for best flavor.
- Prepare Dry Mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat Oil: In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- Coat Chicken: Remove chicken from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Dredge each thigh in the flour mixture, pressing lightly to ensure an even coating.
- Fry Chicken: Carefully place the coated chicken in the hot oil. Fry for 6-8 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
