Description
A delicious chicken curry made with yogurt and aromatic spices.
Ingredients

- 500g chicken thighs
- 150g plain yogurt
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 cardamom pods or 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 400g crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or ghee
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine yogurt, garlic, ginger, and half of the spices. Add chicken and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat oil or ghee in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onions and cook until golden.
- Stir in the remaining spices and cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add tomato paste and crushed tomatoes. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add marinated chicken and yogurt mixture. Stir well.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20–25 minutes until chicken is tender.
- Adjust seasoning as needed, garnish with cilantro, and serve hot with rice or naan.

- This dish pairs well with rice or naan for a complete meal.
- Adjust the level of cayenne pepper depending on your spice preference.
