Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt 1/4 cup butter with 1 cup sugar until bubbly; gently stir in blackberries.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and remaining sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  4. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually mix into the wet ingredients, alternating with milk.
  5. Pour blackberry mixture into the pan, followed by the batter. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Cool before flipping onto a plate to serve.
