Description
A delicious cheesy beef ravioli casserole that’s easy to prepare and perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2–3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- A pinch of red pepper flakes
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 9–12 pieces cheese-filled ravioli
- optional sautéed onions or bell peppers
- optional zucchini or spinach
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown 1 pound of ground beef over medium heat. Break it up with a spatula and cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in about 2 cups of marinara sauce and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Mix well until smooth.
- In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the beef mixture at the bottom. Layer half of the ravioli, followed by half of the cheese mixture. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of beef sauce on top.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Allow the casserole to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
